My Overall Thoughts:

While much of the information discussed within this section of the course on the limitations and capabilities of ai is admittedly well done, I feel that the graphic provided is overall unengaging and unhelpful in accurately representing topics like ai hallucinations, knowledge cutoff dates, and non-deterministic output as there is so much space and few graphics to provide any semblance of visual information about the topic. I do think it’s good that the information is being put into focus by opting to get rid of the face camera during these segments, however I think that it does a disservice in this case because there’s just so little actually on screen that it makes it feel even more barebones and unengaging as a result.

What I would change:

– Put a topic heading at the top right of the visual.

– Add a description of hallucination under the heading that provides an in-depth and easy to understand definition of ai hallucination, why its problematic, and how one could go about fixing it or taking steps to reduce its occurrence.

– Add a section on the right side of the page which mentions how the conecpt applies to different kinds of ai databases and services as not all are impacted by hallucinations to the same degree. Also privide some examples or Rag information tools since they are a good way to avoid hallucinations.

– Also after the general discussion I would add a new segment taking the audience through an example of hallucination where I first come up with a prompt which causes a very obvious hallucination in an ai engine and walk them through how to spot such things through fact checking and what to do in order to fix and reduce such occurrences.

Persona and Empathy Map Considerations:

In overhauling the layout and presentation of this segment from Anthropic’s capabilities and limitations video empowers our intended consumer persona by once again making information more digestible and easier to individually pace as having more in-depth descriptions along with actual examples of limitations like ai hallucination and walkthroughs on how to reduce or fix such occurrences would be really helpful for individuals who are less familiar with these topics and Ai as a whole. Walkthroughs and examples are particularly important for older individuals as text-based explanations aren’t always as easy to understand if someone doesn’t understand certain terms or processes around the technology, which will help to reduce thoughts related to confusion in our audience.
